Norwegian Fir Pure Silk Potpourri Bag - Free Pattern
Materials:
• 1 ball Debbie bliss Pure silk
• Pair 3.75mm needles
• Wool needle
• Ribbon for tie
• Rose petal potpourri or similar scented filling.

Instructions:

Using 3.75mm needles cast on 37 stitches.

Commence pattern.

 

Norwegian Fir pattern:

Row 1 : (RS) P1 * p3, k5, p4 repeat from * to end

Row 2 and every alternate row : purl

Row 3 : P2tog, * p2, k2,yo,k1,yo.k2, p2, p3tog: rep from *  to last 2 stitches, p2tog

Row 5 :  P2tog, * p1, k2, yo, K3,yo,k2,p1, p3tog,  rep from * to last 2 stitches p2tog

Row 7 : P2tog, * k2, yo, k5, yo.k2, p3tog: rep from * to last 2 stitches, p2tog

Row 8 : purl

These 8 rows form pattern.

Work these 8 rows 5 times (40 rows in all).

Work 4 rows garter stitch.

Cast off.

 

Make up:

With right sides together sew back seam then sew seam along bottom.

Fill with rose petal pot pourri and secure top with ribbon bow.
 

Note: if using lavender or similar filling you may like to line the bag with organza.
